Stated in Becoming Jane.
I do agreed with it.
I see people wanting to buy branded stuff when they don't even have money to buy buy necessities, which result in borrowing money from other people and lead to debts, I told myself I'm not going to live my life like that. If I don't have the money, then don't buy it.
"If you don't have the head so big, then don't buy the big hat." They said.
Worse still, people choose short cuts for money. The consequence if they ever get caught is nothing that we can bear.
Sometimes people tend to do things that is not illegal, but it's unethical. It becomes the grey area that people tend to see. Is it because people are too impatient with hard-earned money and and choose to do illegal things to get money? Or maybe they just don't want to work too hard for money. I don't know. I believe that if they really find ways and work hard for money, they will see their fruits at the end.
If you have the integrity and insist of not taking short cuts, sooner or later people will know you as a trustworthy person. And they will be willing to work with you and money will start flowing in.
I admire people who have nothing and success with something, with their own hands. Not even by depending on what their parents have them. I truly do. But the moment I know someone who took short cuts, I just don't like it. Righteous way, so easy to say but so hard to do it.
I grew up seeing my uncle and aunty leaving their home and children to earn money in other countries, and never had the chance to really educate their children which result in my cousins making wrong choices and needed to take the hard way before learning their lessons. They have been good now, but it takes years, and they went through sufferings before turning back to the correct way.
Not all of us have the chance to be born in a silver spoon family where we can get whatever we want. Other people may see me as one of them, but the truth is I saw my parents argued about money since I was small, and that time money was tight. I realise that it was the lack of communication between my parents that resulted in the arguments, that made everybody including me upset. So I vow to handle my finance carefully and also to have communication with my future husband so that we can avoid having this argument in the future and not having to influrncr our children's growth.
Time is money, and it's really very important to fully utilise our time. It indirectly determine your life as you grow older, whether you'll be having more comfortable life or the opposite.
I'm still in my early 20s, and there is still time to learn new things and earn money. So before starting a family (and having kids on the way, which is the main reason money will be flowing out by that time hahaha), let's seize time and earn more money. :D
