Planning is a good thing. Plans are often regarded as backup, for the 'just incase' situations.
But sometimes it can be bad things, especially when Plan B means ------ giving up.
If a relationship doesn't work, then break up would be a nice Plan B.
If a marriage doesn't work, divorce is a great Plan B.
If a career doesn't work, resigning will be an excellent Plan B.
If graduating from college seems to be impossible, quitting will be the best Plan B.
The struggle to commit to ourselves from maintaining a relationship, a marriage, a career or graduating from college is too much for us to bear, often not, giving up is the easiest way.
But life's like this eh? I don't believe in easy ways and short cuts. Somehow they don't give me the security that it will last long. Somehow we need and must go through some obstacles and challenges before we really own something, and that something will surely be with us for a very long time.
I read this just now, and feel that instead of feeling fed up of changing others to compromise with our own means, it's more important to change ourselves. This article, How to Change Your Man, is a great article about committing ourselves into something.
I find it very, very true.
Like me, last time I used to have a lot of fears in my relationship. But when I slowly let go of my fears, I realise that, somehow he too changes. And it leads to me thinking is he the one who I've known earlier?
Fears happen because of lack of communication, and it will lead to no communication, because whatever people say, it will trigger to more doubts and insecurity. So when we learn to change ourselves, and kick fear away from our lives, it will lead to open communication, a willingness to communicate. And it certainly make things better.
Plannings are great, only if we really persevere and make it to the end, we'll be able to see the fruits.
“And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him” -1 John 5:14-15 -
