Restart When God is Calling You to Start Over

- Sometimes we'll make wrong decisions and wish to retract it back.
- God is interested in restarting our lives.

Matthew 4:18-20 - Jesus Calls His First Disciples
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him.

1. Your restart with God starts with the Word of God

John 1:1-3 - The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Genesis 1:3-5
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Genesis 1:14-19
14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.

- God's word is light.
- We underestimate the power of God's words to restart our lives with Him.
- God will use your current situation to push you forward.

2. Your restart with God starts by following Jesus
- It's one thing to come to church on Sundays but it's another thing to follow Jesus.
- We're always giving excuses that we're busy or lazy.

Matthew 8:19-20
19 Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
20 Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

Matthew 10:37
37 “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Matthew 16:24
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

3. Your restart with God starts when a call is placed in our lives.

It's often very easy to say I wish I did that so that I won't get into this trouble, or I wish I had wait long enough to not lose this thing. But of all the I-wish(s), we need to learn to move on and not dwell in the mistakes that we made because there is nothing that we can do. What we can do is to trust God and make the right decisions.
