During my stay in Husky’s hometown, I’ve plenty of time. Other than reading books, I also watch dramas and movies.
The drama that I watched is The World Between Us (我们与恶的距离), a Taiwanese drama recommended by a colleague. It came to our conversation when we were discussing about the Joker movie.
Thank God The World Between Us is only 10 episodes. I don’t know how others manage to “chase drama” which has at least 25 episodes, watching 2 episodes straight already made me feel tired haha! #gettingold
Summary of the drama: What is it to be like to be a family member of a mass shooting murderer? When victim’s family members have the rights to be angry, upset, and remorseful about what had happened to their love ones, what bout the family members of the murderer? How frustrated they are when the blame is on them just because the family somehow “produced” a murderer? They don’t have the rights to complain that they are rejected and discriminated by the society, and they don’t have the rights to continue their life and be happy, just because their family member had cause a heartache to the society.
I remember very clearly when the mother of the murderer said this sentence: “ You all think that I’ve wasted 20 years of my life just to raise a murderer?!”
A lot of mass shooting murderers have the same trait worldwide: that prior to the shootings, they behave like normal, not a bit of bitterness even. And they are good kids and nobody would have thought that they would do something like this.
And thus, even though the murderer is sentenced to death, the lawyer keeps on insisting on knowing what’s the reason behind the mass shooting. If only we can find out the core reason, instead of pressuring the government to sentence the murderers to death, we might be able to stop even more mass shootings from happening. Which I do agreed, because a person won’t just wake up one day and decide that oh I’m going to murder people today. No they don’t, but it must be something that happened to them in the past which accumulates and triggers them to “do something big”. It can be feeling inferior, or being told negative words over and over again. That can spark someone to want to prove to others that no, I’m not who you say I am. And I’m going to do something to proof you wrong, in a wrong way.
And the media industry has also been diverted to wrong direction these years, especially with social media. What you see, might not be the whole truth. And people just like to comment based on what they see. If only we can stop judging, stop misinterpret what we know, we wouldn’t have caused so many suicidal cases.
But I must also admit one thing which is humans’ hearts nowadays seem to be more fragile then ever. Back then our grandparents and parents era, they seem to be able to do whatever they want, and ask ways have the bravery to face the world and accept new challenges. But now it seems that we’re unable to face any negativity that’s thrown to us. We’ve lose the courage to live, so we choose to avoid life and face death.
And then I watched Joker.
This is a movie that I’ve avoided watching because it was depressing. Or so I heard. And perhaps I’ve been watching The World Around Us, so it wasn’t that depressed when I watch Joker. And also maybe I was sleepy when I watched it, I thought it was kinda draggy and was hoping that Joker can stop laughing. It was of the same theme as The World Around Us, being bullied and discriminated. One fine line distinguishes a person from being bullied to bullying people back or to ignore the naysayers and be a stronger person. Just one fine line, will lead to so many incidents afterward.
But surprisingly Joker doesn’t touch my heart the way The World Around Us touched mine. Maybe the latter involves more on families and I got to learn different perspective, be it family members of mass shooting murderer, family members of victims of mass shooting, family members of mental health issues patients, and also how the society perceive these people. So it covers more on a wide range of perceptions.
But life’s exciting, isn’t it? If only we put down our fragile hearts and judgmental eyes , and use our lives to help those who need us.

Talitha Tan - Would You
Such a great video from The Ming Thing, and such a suitable song for this video. Wonder how these people can just add in the most suitable of the song into the most suitable part of the video.
The Christmas video - The Delivery Boy
Would You - Talitha Tan
The Christmas video - The Delivery Boy
Would You - Talitha Tan
You will see,
Every little thing, that I do for you
Is to make you feel alright.
Every little thing, that I do for you
Is to make you feel alright.
I will be,
Everything you need, that you need from me.
Cause I'm all you need tonight.
Everything you need, that you need from me.
Cause I'm all you need tonight.
Would you, close your eyes
Let me be the one, to kiss you goodnight
Won't you, hold me closer my love.
Let me be the one, to kiss you goodnight
Won't you, hold me closer my love.
Would you, let me love,
Love you more than I, were to love myself
Won't you feel me closer my love
Love you more than I, were to love myself
Won't you feel me closer my love
Don't you see, that I'll be,
A lullaby, forever in your mind
You're everything that I need me to be
A lullaby, forever in your mind
You're everything that I need me to be
Pull me close, don't let go
Don't wanna be just another memory
Love you more than the air that I breathe
Don't wanna be just another memory
Love you more than the air that I breathe
Would you, close your eyes
Let me be the one, to kiss you goodnight
Won't you, hold me closer my love.

A Korean Odyssey
This Korean drama is the Korean version of Journey to the West with characters greatly linked into romantic relationship.
I'm quite fascinated with the relationships that are twisted. In Journey to the West, Monkey King needs to listen to the Monk, otherwise the crown on his head will be tighten and cause him headache.
Whereas in the Korean version, Monkey King needs to listen to the Monk (who's a girl) because there's a crown bracelet on his wrist (quite cute) and only the Monk has the power to take it out. And because of it, they fall in love with each other hahahaha!
There are also morals to learn in the story.
One of it is a guy who drives after drinking alcohol, alongside his wife who's pregnant. Then there's this devil who enters the car (humans can't see them) and tempted the driver to speed which almost caused an accident to happen.
Monkey King came in time to stop the car (let it spins few rounds somemore) and cast out the devil. He told the driver to not drink before driving to not let the devil to successfully tempt him to do things that he should not do.
Another incident is where the Devil of Swears (lol the name) tempts people to write nasty comments in social media about a shop which result in the shop closed down due to the critics. It is due to jealousy in humans' hearts which caused them to be easily tempted to speak harsh words to each other.
I find these scenarios so true in reality.
Just last Sunday, Pr Eric talked about Overcoming Demonic Influence, it is exactly the same theory as told in the Korean drama. It happens to all of us, even to me.
My weakness is anxiety lately, where I'm anxious of doing cold calls, calling customers to know more on their profile and to give advice on mortgage loan. I always mess up especially the part where I'm supposed to give solutions to customers and not giving them more problems hahaha. And also because my banking info and experience is not enough, I tend to have hiccups when it comes to advising. Not forget to mention, the way I speak is still very direct and not in a better way which will make customer more comfortable talking to me.
I can say that this job really stretch me more than my previous 2 jobs. The job before this stretched me too, but in a super stress manner which will make me cry due to pressure. This job however is more to discipline and focus.
I know that I always focus on the wrong things. I focus on problems not solutions. And also often I forget to focus on God who is much more bigger than my problems and challenges. Hence I need to learn to cast away my anxieties, and not let the devil to overcome my daily life.

Christopher Robin
We all have that thought, of thinking that getting better job can give our family a better life, but by doing this we neglect our times with our family.
Using time to exchange better lifestyle, or continue to live in discomfort where even though everyday you got to see your family members but you're having headache settling monthly bills?
So many shows,The Greatest Showman, Christoper Robin, so many more. Describing the same daily struggles.
So hard to make a balance in this situation. I followed a lot full time working parents in Insta, having 2 kids at home but having businesses as well. Man, how they even find time for both.
Now that I don't have a family yet I already find struggles sometimes. Struggle to find ways to solve problems, which is my job btw. Struggle to do a lot of things yet not motivated enough to do, and in the end wasted countless amount of time.
My HK customer mentioned that HK is producing robots, do the same thing everyday without knowing why. Work, sleep, repeat. There's still life in M'sia, thank God for that.
Nevertheless, life still goes on, no matter what's our decision. I just want to be experienced in something that I do so that when I look back, I can know that this is the fruits of me not giving up at the beginning.

The Greatest Showman
Since it's my birthday month, I have 2 free movie tickets from MBO and GSC.
And since a lot of people told me that The Greatest Showman is a very nice show plus the fact that it became an asterisk movie me and Husky went to GSC to watch this show.

We went into the cinema without knowing anything about this movie. The only thing I know is it has Hugh Jackman in it. Haha.
Turned out that it is a musical, and a story about a man who wants to give his family everything that he can but when fame and money blinded his eyes, he made wrong decisions and everything goes wrong. Of course the ending was a good one, but it did remind me of what we really need in life.
All of us want a comfortable life, but when it becomes too comfortable we tend to reach out for more. More money, more success, more fame, more respect, until one day we are blinded by our own desires and become a fallen star.
From the book 1 & 2 Timothy: Watch Your Life and Doctrine which I'm reading lately,
"People who want to get rich face many dangers to their souls, they were not contented with what they already had but wanted more and more. What drove them was the love of money which is the root of all kinds of evil.
Money can be a potent instrument to be used for the good of others, but it can also overpower us and become our master. It can become our god."
The OSTs of the whole movie are really great. A simple yet touching movie with great songs. :D
One of my fav is Never Enough by Jenny Lind (Loren Allred)
One of my fav is Never Enough by Jenny Lind (Loren Allred)
Especially the scene where Jenny realised that Barnum never really fall in love with her, and was only impressed with her performance, and so she was left heartbroken because she had fall for him. I do think the way Barnum looked at her the first time he saw her sang is really like falling in love with her. Or maybe Hugh Jackman's really a good actor hahaha.
The last time I watched his movies was Logan, where he was dead at the end. Such a big contrast between Wolverine series and musical movies.

Why We Need to End the Era of Orphanages
I watched this video by Tara Winkler speaking in the TEDxSydney, and to my surprise, this is what is going on in orphanages in this century.
Many times I felt like I couldn't differentiate what is true and what is fake anymore. How can orphanages who are meant to provide orphans a shelter and education until they are big enough to survive on their own, be manipulated into crimes like misuse of funds and physical/sexual abuse?
Family members are separated because they are misguided into believing that sending their children to orphanages will be more secured, when the reality is that it is causing them to face worse situations other than poverty.
This video is really an eye-opener for me, whether being a volunteer in doing helping the orphans is a right thing, or to do research carefully whether our help is really helping them, or that we are just contributing to their misfortunes.

The First Love
The first love. Many of us experienced that during highschool. And when we grow a bit older, we dismiss that as puppy love. Not the actual first love.
The firsts are always the most memorable ones. The first time you hold hands, the first time you hug him and would never want to be apart from him, the first time you kiss, the first time you're upset, the first time seeing him angry.... It's like culture shock, but it soon evolves and become the I-used-to-its.
And then the first time you break up.
The helplessness feeling that you can't control.
And the story diverts into 2 paths: The rekindle, and the moving on.

Fake it until You Make it
Recently I watched a video in Ted Ed, and it somehow sinks into my mind.
The speaker talks about how our body language determines our attitude in life. Certain positions make you feel bold, and other positions will make you feel small and unworthy.
Lately I'm also reading Joel Osteen's 90 Devotions book, and one of the devotions also sinks into my mind.
"God longs to make something out of your life. He'll take a nobody and shape that person into a somebody. But you must cooperate with God's plan; you must start thinking of yourself as a champion God made you to be."
"God's thoughts will build you up and encourage you. They will give you strength you need to keep on keeping on. God's thoughts can give you the can-do mentality."
Such an encouragement!
If you have 15 minutes of free time, do watch this video. I promise you it worth your time. :)
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:13 -

Alice Through the Looking Glass
I recently had the chance to watch this movie, and I can say that the ending gave me a surprise.
I had learned from this movie that:
1. When someone had a huge rage towards us in their hearts, it was just because we didn't acknowledge our wrongdoings and apologised to them. Sometimes they don't really care what were the consequences that happened to them because of what we did, they just want us to be bold and admit our mistakes.
2. No matter what we do, we cannot change the past, and undo the wrong things that we did. We're never able to change the situation, but we can choose how to react.
3. If you're a girl don't be pressured by the society for not being able to do certain things. In conjunction with International Women's Day I must say that females are doing a lot more than the old times.
4. The Time jokes are funny.
5. When we see our boyfriends we must ask where's my present?

Jubilee Project Short Film - Blind Devotion
I loveeee meaningful stories, whether they are videos or books. This video by Jubilee Project got me in tears, because it shows what true love is. They say you only know who really love you when you're having trouble, whether is sickness, bankruptcy, etc. Only true love can make someone stay by your side when you're in your lowest point.

A Dog's Purpose

Wanted to watch this since last year, and Husky told me to bring 3 boxes of tissues into the cinema. In the end he brought extra packet of tissue just in case.
I cried everytime a dog died. :\
Got corgi also OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No matter what type the dog became, it's still the very same Bailey. It looks like Barley by the way. :D
I once read that your dog means something to you, but to him/her, you mean everything.
Like really, they will love you so much, they can even risk their lives for you. The humanity in it is sometimes way beyond humans. :')

TED Talks
I've been wanting to watch TED videos since quite a while ago. Thanks to procrastination, I never did so until I've started to make my own planner and really plan to do what on which day.
Sometimes I did fail to follow my planner, but I try to make it up on another day.
I really feel that I've much productivity nowadays. :D
Back to the TED videos.
It's an international motivational talks, which invite leaders or whoever is influenced enough to motivate people.
And those things are exactly what we have been told all the while, and we knew exactly all along that it's the things that we should do. But at the end, we procrastinate again, shut our ideas off, telling ourselves no, we can't do it.
So it's quite a reminder by watching these videos, and it's up to us whether we want to really get to action or not. :)
You can head on and search for TEDx Talks in YouTube. :D

Science Has Found Evidence Of God!?
I don't know whether this video is real because I'm a Christian and I believe in the existence of God, or that it's real because it's really the truth. Non-believers will not believe everything that is said in this video, but for me, it just tells the fact that there's a Creator in this Universe.
Even though it's a bit lengthy (around 25 minutes), but if you're curious about life, do spend some time watching it! :D

Closer, yet further apart
I love videos involving The Ming Thing. It can be produced by them, it also can be projects involving them. They really bring out videos that shows the reality of what's happening in our daily lives in a relationship.
Like this video, when I watched it I thought about last year. We had constant fights (okay we didn't fight, just me complaining and crying and sobbing and emo-ing) about him not replying me immediately, and what I think and said at that point were exactly what the girl in this video said.
Then it hit me. I'm not the only one who faces this situation, apparently Husky is not the only guy who gets frustrated with girls like me. Haha.
I don't complain much about this nowadays, I sure hope I didn't. Should ask Husky about it. Haha. :P

The Princess And The Frog (Jinnyboy's Wedding)
Jinnyboy's married!!!! Hahahahaha after I watched this video and read the comments below, I saw many of them said that they didn't know he has a gf until he's married. Like for 5 entire years! HAHA!
And also must watch this video on how they met each other! xD
It's true when they say you don't need to show every picture of you with your partner in social media just for them to see how 'sweet' you both are, you know what's the situation and you don't need others to kepoh. But of course when people ask you got bf or not you don't say no la. That's illegal you know. :P
Anndddd the venue is again my favourite outdoor theme! Just like Jared & Marriane~ :D
Seriously I don't like those traditional go to hotel or restaurant kind of wedding. Invite people that I don't even know. Hahahaha.
I always teared up during the part where both bride and groom gave their speeches, like how they met, and how their partners accept each other and etc. How big is the love required to accept a person completely, there's still plenty space for me to learn. :)

Beautiful World 美丽新世界
The latest local Mandarin drama which is aired every Friday at 9.30pm in ntv7 is quite interesting. It is divided into 4 different segments.
The second segment which is the one that I watched is about the dominant of women in the society where women are the head of the families and they have the ultimate power to everything, including marrying more than one man once they reached 30 years old.
They can beat their husbands whom they suspect cheated on them to death, and still be protected by laws due to 'women rights', but husbands will be sentenced to prison if they declare to divorce their wives.
It is exactly the opposite of what happened few decades ago, where men have the ultimate power whereas women weren't protected by any laws.
In the current moment, I think that women are getting more power in terms of career and also in family. There are more women getting involved in the directors board in some companies, and women sometimes have more say than men in the family (they say that men nowadays takut isteri one? hahahahaah).
Balance is the key, but it's hard to achieve.
Last time they emphasize on giving birth to boys, but now they say they want girls. Sooner or later, women will really take over the planet, as what is shown in the drama. HAHAHAHA.
A revenge to the generations who emphasize on men? :P
By the way, it's quite an interesting story line, and the other 3 segments are very interesting too. It's great that our local talents can come up with unique story lines like these. :D
In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. - Romans 12:6-8 -

Just Keep Swimming
So me and Nek went for a movie date, and yes, it's cartoon again ------ FINDING DORY.
Such a coincidence that Nek told me Finding Nemo was located in Sydney AND I actually watched Finding Nemo in the bus so watching Finding Dory after Finding Nemo just makes enough sense. Haha.
As both of us quite like to sleep, and we agreed to depart at 11+am, but when both of us woke up at 10+am, we were like, I'm going back to sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. -.-
By the way we reached The Curve around 11.10am, and went to e-Curve to buy tickets before going to the McD at the Kidzania Center. Met up with the so chubby Shawn (OMG SO CHUBBY AND HANDSOME!!!!!!) and also had a talk with Nek's sister (Ah Yi Po xD), then we jalan-jalan until 3.45pm to watch Finding Dory.
Small little Dory is sooooooooooooooooo cuuuuuuttttttttttteeeeeeeeeeeeee OMGGGGGGGG!
Overall it was a great movie, and the moral of the story is JUST KEEP SWIMMIIIINNNGGGGGG~~~~~~~ In other words, don't give up and keep going! Also be like Dory, who does things without needing to think so hard and plan so hard, see what do what, that's it. HAHA.
And we also stayed till the very end for the ending credit. Teehee. After back we went to IKEA and bought currypuffs. My all time favourites. ;D
A day well-spent with my beloved Nek. ♥

Me Before You
So I watched this movie with Husky on the 25th of June, which is like 2 weeks ago, probably the reason why my blog is so dry now is that my laziness came back. Aha.
.jpg)
Still had the chance to watch this even after few weeks of being released in cinemas.
Sam Claflin acted in Hunger Games, and I kinda like him in the Hunger Games, even though he wasn't the main character, and Emilia Clarke is one of the main characters in The Game of Thrones, which I never dare to watch because I know I'll be addicted. Aha. Both movies have the word 'Game' in the names hahahaha.
So the movie is basically about a love story of a very ordinary girl and a very rich guy who is half-paralysed from an accident. Seems a very common story plot, but how the story is told is another thing.
One of the main attractions is of course Louisa Clark's colourful outfit and of course, how her eyebrows move. HAHA.
Husky on the other hand was more focused on stuff like "So fast chorus already one?" when Canon was played during a scene and "The taxi is a Mercedes-Benz lea!". Yeah things like that. And got smacked by me for focusing on the wrong things. Not going to watch any romantic movies with him anymore. HMPH.
By the way I almost finished the whole big bucket of popcorn until I was so full when we walked out of the cinema. Hehehe.
At the end of the movie of course I was teared up because Will still chose to die peacefully rather than trying to live for Lou as their love blossom for each other. That Husky just laughed at me for being too absorbed by the movie. Better than realising the taxis are Mercedes-Benz HMPH!
Overall it was a good movie, to me at least, and I have soft spots for movie which is adapted from novels, so I enjoyed it. Not forget to mention I got free ice cream after the movie (hehehehe) and had a great dinner with Husky also. :P
By the way, there's a sequel after Me Before You, which is... After You. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. And the story revolves Lou's life after Will's death, with another guy. I'm so not going to watch the movie, if there is any, so that my tears for Will won't be wasted. Boohoo.
