Where Our Lips Are Sealed: Shanghai Trip PART 1

I'm always not that type of person who is excited to write down everything or capture every single pic during trips because I just want to enjoy myself with my own eyes and heart and not through camera or pen with paper.

That is why this Shanghai post has been delayed until now. Hahahaha.

DAY 1
Departed on the 12th of March (which is almost one month ago :P) with MAS, which I spent my time watching The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and listening to the OST of Frozen. Almost wanted to sing out loud when Olaf sings In SUMMERRRRRR~~~~ INNNNNNN~~~~~ SUMMMMMM~~~MEEEERRRRRRRR~~~~~~~~~~

Ahem. So as I was saying, it had been a long time since I traveled by MAS, since almost 4 years ago and we got free flow of water, juice, coffee, carbonated drinks and also beer + wine, not to mention free meals and entertainment, and oh, free kacang. Hahaha.

Tadaa~

The flight delayed because 3 passengers didn't board into the plane and the staffs needed to unload their luggage which took around 40 minutes. -.-

When we arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, it took another half an hour as there were too many planes which had just landed and the planes were literally queuing up to their respective places.

We lived in the Bund Riverside Hotel, and this is our view:

When we came out from the airport, we immediately felt the coldness as the wind was quite strong. As it was already evening when we reached there, after unpacked our stuff we walked to Nanjing road and ate beef noodle for dinner.

A lot of noodles, not that much beef.

Their Apple store is like so so so huge!!!

The ladies there so healthy, exercise at night one~ :D

Still in CNY mood hahaha.

It was 10 degree celcius on the first night, something that I never experienced before.

So as you can see, the whole Nanjing street is full of shops and malls, the best part is that it's very safe for people to walk around, and cars are not allowed here.

This was how I felt after I went back to the hotel. Literally needed to cover all of my body parts.

DAY 2
In Shanghai, travel by taxi is far more convenient than taking the metro, the opposite compared to traveling in Japan.

So we took a taxi and went to Yu Yuan Garden. This is the place where you get to see a lot of traditional buildings that look like temples.

The items sold here are either ¥2 or ¥10.
But of course you don't expect the quality to be very good with these prices.

I don't look kawaii in these glasses.

Nor do I look sassy in these.

The inner part of the Yu Yuan Garden is like a food paradise where all you can see is food, food and more food.

In Chinese this is known as 牙签肉, so I guess the direct translation to English is Toothpick Meat. Hahaha.

After that, we went to a place call Taobao city but many people don't know this place because it is more well-known with the name Han City Fashion & Accessories Plaza.

And we were sooooooooooooooo disappointed.

You see, almost everything around us are made in China and we came to Shanghai with great expectations that everything must be a lot cheaper compared to Malaysia (minus out export fees etc, must be cheaper right?).

On the first day when we just arrived and were waiting for our luggage, a man who was in our plane and is working in Shanghai told us that we might as well buy clothes in Malaysia. We didn't know why he said so but then now we knew.

The Han City Fashion & Accessories Plaza is like KWC in Malaysia or Platinum Plaza in Bangkok because it is all about wholesale.

But the price is far more expensive. They started by setting extremely high price, then you need to negotiate till the way down but even if you did manage to get a 80% discount, you will still feel it ain't that cheap as you can get the similar thing in Malaysia with similar price.

Wanted to buy watches but there were none fashionable ones. Wanted to buy wedges but all they have are boots. In the end I did buy 2 hats though, one Fedora and another the painter's hat.

At night we joined a cruise tour where we get to see the view of The Bund, and buffet dinner was included.

Again, we expected it to be something that we experienced in Bangkok but the food was oh-so disappointed to us. Like really, really disappointed.

Nevertheless, we walked around the cruise and got to admire the beautiful night scenery.

My mum said me and them are like separate entities HAHAHA.

After the less than 90 minutes cruise tour, we headed back and passed by this street full of people everyday.

DAY 3

We walked down the street to Qi Pu Street where there are a lot of wholesale malls too. The malls are huge and are connected to each other. There are at least 5 or 6 wholesale malls located at the street.

As you know, it was still winter when we arrived so summer clothing were not in our expectations.

Yay because I managed to buy 2 semi-formal clothes. :D

Nay because I couldn't buy anything other than that. :(

After walking around 2 wholesale malls, we had lunch.

We didn't really ask what type of meat when we bought, assuming everything is either chicken or pork. ._.

I bought 2 formal pants and a trenchcoat. Not bad la for the day. :D

And this was what happened at night.

This is wanton, their specialty is to eat them without noodles.
The filling inside made us very full.

Then we took the metro and headed to XinTianDi, but it was raining so we just walked around in this shopping mall which I forgot the name hahaha. But it's obvious that it's quite high-class la.

After purchasing 2 cans of coffee and 1 can of beer, we took the metro back to Nanjing Street where we stopped by and bought------

EGG TARTS!!!!!!!!

We also bought this Tang Qi Ma, usually whenever we passed by, there will be a lot of people queuing up. Today we managed to buy because the line wasn't that long probably due to mild rain.
