Chatime

Recently I've been reading young entrepreneurs' articles and I'm impressed by the founder of Chatime.

Bryan Loo, in his early 30s.

Don't get me wrong, even though he quite yeng, and at this age he's considered as one of the most successful young entrepreneurs in Malaysia, but I'm more interested in his journey to success. FYI, he married early and got 2 kids already la. His wife is the finance controller of Chatime by the way.

Hahahahahahaha. I don't know why but it seems that a lot of women are involved in managing money, whether it's at home or in the company, especially when the company belongs to your husband. Hahaha.

Before the start of Chatime, he was doing sales selling stem cell and umbilical cord storage. Seriously? Hahaha. But it's not the main issue.

The most important point is, how much love his then-gf-current-wife had for him to support him throughout his journey? I don't know how long they have known each other, but how much love was there?

In fact this question doesn't only direct to him. But to every couples. How do you know if it's worth it at the end? How do couples support each other during their worst periods? Bankruptcy, serious illness, broken trust.. How? What if after the worst periods, they left each other for good? What if after being together during the worst periods, and end up being betrayed?

How.

What if.

Why I choose a young entrepreneur as the main persona is because first, he's young. Second, he's young and successful. Third, he's young, successful and yeng. Fourth, he's young, successful, yeng, but got a wife and two kids already.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Okay, I choose to talk about him because I always have interest in business and I can see the risk that he's willing to take because in an era where everybody drinks coffee he chose to bring in tea. Risk is interesting yet challenging.

More also, the risk that his then-gf-current-wife took because she believes that he will be successful one day. How sure was she? How much confidence she had? My guess is... that would be a lot of love.

Let me end this article by copying and pasting this paragraph from this article:

It’s a misconception that an entrepreneur should stay single in order to focus on one’s business. Loo got married with his first and only love in his early twenties. Currently, his wife, Sally Quah is the Financial Controller for Chatime and he believes a committed relationship makes things easier. For instance, he can go all out into his business and never have to worry at the back of his mind and get distracted about looking for love.

“I settle the relationship part early in my life so that I can focus solely in my business.”

"I have loved you," says the Lord. - Malachi 1:2 -
