Joshua 3:5
5 Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”
Don't ask for victory if you have not walk in obedience.
2 Corinthians 7:1
7 Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
Set ourselves apart from evil, offer your life to God to use you.
Leviticus 20:7
Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord your God.
Unless the Lord builds the house, we labor in vain.
Foundations of Consecration:
1. Forsaking of sins
Galatians 5:19-21
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Psalm 51:4
Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight;
so you are right in your verdict
and justified when you judge
2. Committing to Christ-like character
It's goodness of God that brings us for repentance
Romans 8:28-29
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
3. Aligning in God's will
James 4:17
17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
