Safety Lines: Spiritual Boundaries for a Blessed Life

Jude 21

21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

- God will bless you if you stay inside His boundaries

  - God will shower you with spiritual things
  - People will see that you're blessed by God, no longer having insufficiency (material things)
  - God will give you healing


What Are Spiritual Boundaries?

1. God's Laws

  - Marriage Law

Genesis 2:24-25

24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

  - Civil Law

Exodus 21:12

12 “Anyone who strikes a person with a fatal blow is to be put to death.

  - Ceremonial Law

Genesis 17:10

10 This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised.

  -Moral Law (The Ten Commandments)

   1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
   2. You shall not make idols.
   3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
   4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
   5. Honor your father and your mother.
   6. You shall not murder.
   7. You shall not commit adultery.
   8. You shall not steal.
   9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  10.You shall not covet.

2. God's Promises

Ezekiel 44:30

30 The best of all the firstfruits and of all your special gifts will belong to the priests. You are to give them the first portion of your ground meal so that a blessing may rest on your household.

Philemon 16

Psalm 37:26

26 They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing.[a]

Malachi 3:10

Why We Dont Stay in God's Boundaries?

1. Temptations
2. Distractions
3. "Everybody's doing it"
4. Believed in a lie


What Happened When We Step Out of God's Boundaries?

- We are no longer blessed, but cursed (give the devil a foothold)

Ephesians 4:26

26 “In your anger do not sin”[a]: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry

How Can We be Restored Back to God's Boundaries?
1. Christ became our curse

Galatians 3:13

13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”

2. Turn from your wicked ways

2 Chronicles 7:14

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

3. Acknowledge that Jesus is the Way

John 14:6
