Karl Wallenda

I'm currently reading this book Be All You Can Be: A Challenge to Stretch Your God-Given Potential by John Maxwell. One of the stories gave me a very, very deep impression till I always think of it whenever I feel fear or doubt.

So this guy, Karl Wallenda was a tightrope artist who performed daredevil stunt performances.

I read up his history in Google, find his biography quite interesting.

In the book, John mentioned that he read an article which Wallenda 's wife said this:

Sorry, I'm so lazy to type the whole thing, I just searched for the ebook and screenshot from there hahaha.

As a 73 year old stuntman, he had experienced near-death experience, where they failed the 7-man stunt which resulted in few deaths. Yet he went on to perform for so many years without fear.

His death stunned people, as not only is he a famous stunt performer (having recruited even by the Barnum circus, which I think is the same circus in The Greatest Showman), the whole tightrope performance was also broadcasted live.

I can't imagine how was it like being a spectator there, having seen so many of his performances, never in their minds ever crossed that one day he will die because of a fall. And the fall is due to fear. How to not fall, instead of focusing of walking the tightrope.

How we think often leads to how we feel. Think negatively, and we'll feel doubt and insecure. It's all linked. But when we visualise our success, it leads to feeling passionate and excited to keep on going.

For God always wants us to have a joyful and fruitful life.
