Hanoi 2016 #2.

Day 4
It's a Saturday and we are supposed to go to Halong Bay, one of the top 2 tourist attraction in Hanoi. Almost all of my dad's colleagues already went with their families when they came to Hanoi. We boarded on the bus where some of the tourists were already in and the bus continue to stop hotel-by-hotel to pick up other tourists. Halfway the pick-up journey, the tour guide informed us that the weather is very bad in Halong Bay and he gave us choices to either proceed, or change tour to Hoa Lu - Tam Coc Day Tour, OR, postpone to next day. Even if you postpone, they can't promise that the weather will be nice.

So, we postponed. They sent us back to where they picked us up. There's a sudden drop of temperature starting today, until 6-7 degree Celsius. It's similar to the weather in Shanghai last year in March but I fell sick so I didn't get to really experience and enjoy the coldness. All I remember was shivering while wishing to go back to hotel ASAP hahahaha.

We walked around the Old Quarters since the trip is postponed. It's like Petaling Street in Malaysia or Pratunam Market in Bangkok. Okay, not as crowded as in Bangkok la.

It was raining on and off too!

Mau kopi?

Ehehehehe I spotted my own name!
#iamsothefamous
My parents saw that there's fishcake in the tourist guide and they wanted to try it out. Found the restaurant and...

This is fishcake. Hahahahahahaha. Not bad la the taste.
Popiah on the right.
On the left is a type of sweet soup which cooled off so fast because of the weather.

Complimentary grass. I mean vegetables.
It's the vegetables season. I think.

Plus a complimentary selfie! xD
At night we went to visit St. Joseph's Cathedral. Coincidentally the service started the time we reached, but, we don't know Vietnamese so we left in a short while.
The interior.
The exterior.
Then we went to this cafe to have a simple dinner.

The Banh Mis. And yes, Vietnamese like to serve bananas a lot. xD

MATCHA LATTE!!!!!!!!!!!

Err Tiramisu something. Hehehe.

The cup design looks like Christmas decoration eh~
Paper flowers~
Then we went to jalan-jalan around the famous Hoan Kiem Lake. Oh, the famous old turtle died on the very day we arrived in Hanoi! Aiyo! For more information, please click here!

Paiseh ah, camera not good enough to take clear night pictures. The last time I came, they didn't put as much light decorations. So it's actually very pretty at night, with the colourful lights.

Day 5
It was raining AGAIN.

The travel agency called to inform us that the Halong Bay trip was cancelled AGAIN. So, we told ourselves, since the next day is my birthday, who knows maybe it's God's plans for us to go to Halong Bay on my birthday! So, again, we postponed.

And we jalan-jalan in this Lotte shopping mall. It's a Korean mall, and it was still under construction the last time I came.

FYI, today SANGAT SEJUK!!!!!!! Until we were not allowed to go to the observation deck because it's too cold. Probably scare that we might be frozen up there hahahaha.

We had Korean food for lunch. But as usual, I forgot the names ahahaha.

These kind of Korean food is something that my parents are willing to eat. Ask them to eat Kimchi, Topokki, Bibimbap, they will shake their heads and eat nasi lemak instead.

When I saw this, I kept on swallowing my saliva.
I loveeeee mushroom soup. Pair it with bread, even better! But no, I didn't get to try this. :\
The screen for information of the observation deck

The entrance for observation deck boohoohoohooohoo :'((((

Inside CNY mood outside still Christmas mood xD
:D
At night we jalan-jalan in the Vincom Center. Nothing much to see la.

Simple pre-celebration for my birthday. I don't know why most spaghetti out there are lack of meat. Like, 80% spaghetti 20% meat. :\
